Cory George (he/him)
Trauma/Mental Health Consultant, Interventionist, Author, Public Speaker
Cory George is an award-wining and globally- recognized trauma specialist that specializes in the intersectionality of historical, cultural, and intergenerational trauma. George is also an award-winning television host and personality whose work can be seen on season 1 of A&E’s original series “Digital Addiction” as well as appearances on OWN’s “Iyanla, Fix My Life”.
George also served as the creator, executive producer, and host of “1 on 1 with Cory George” which aired on DCTV public access network. George’s steadfast advocacy and purpose-filled work for those who have suffered from various forms of trauma was inspired by his ability to thrive after experiencing childhood sexual abuse, bullying, abandonment, and the sudden and unexpected loss of his mother at the age of 7.
As a parent to both a trans-daughter and a son who is on the autism spectrum, George is reminded that sound mental and physical health must be a top priority for all, and that the work continues to help others more safely navigate their lives. George is also the recipient of the 2023 Presidential Lifetime Achievement Award for Volunteerism.
