Gabrielle Lopiano, PH.D.
LGBTQ Institute Scholar, & Assistant Professor of Management, Vanderbilt University, Owen Graduate School of Management
Gabrielle (Gabby) Lopiano studies the effects of stigma and social hierarchy on workplace outcomes. Her current work focuses on the ways that adverse lifetime experiences, particularly those suffered by members of stigmatized social groups, can lead employees to develop unique assets and skills that add value to their organizations. Further, she examines how inclusive and equitable organizational climates allow employees with stigmatized identities to thrive at work.
Gabby has been invited to present her work at the National Center for Civil and Human Rights, at the federal Center on Budget and Policy Priorities, and in Emory Executive Education programs, in addition to several academic conferences. Prior to entering academia, she worked as a civil engineer in Philadelphia.
